Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has revealed that Antony is working hard and he will do his best to help him regain his form.

The Brazilian star moved to Old Trafford for a fee of £85million in the summer of 2022 but has been underwhelming and has been heavily criticised by the media and pundits alike, having scored just 12 goals and provided five assists in 92 appearances, with just one goal this season.

Antony has come off the bench in two of the last three games and started twice for the first time since Amorim took over, with the Portuguese boss saying the 24-year-old is working hard and his job is to help his team rediscover their best form.

“He needs more confidence. If you remember, Antony and I had a duel when he played for Ajax,” Amorim said. “He lacks a little bit of confidence to play one-on-one, so he needs to improve.”

“But he’s working really hard and he’s trying Register ufabet to get the best out of it. He just has to keep doing that, keep working hard and I’m happy to help him become a better player.”

Amorim’s comments come after Antony was heavily criticise for his performance against Tottenham in the EFL Cup on Thursday.

Former Premier League striker Troy Deeney even called upon United to ‘cut ties’ with the Brazil international, although Amorim seems more likely to help coach Antony to become a more consistent force.
